Rodrigues, Indian Ocean

Sitting nearly 400 miles north-east of Mauritius, almost isolated in the middle of the Indian Ocean, the secret hideaway island of Rodrigues emerges out of the distance located in the centre of a vast emerald blue lagoon. This tiny island, of volcanic origin, is just 11 miles from top to bottom and 5 miles across has a charm and beauty found very rarely anywhere in the world. Diving in Rodrigues is fairly unique, the unhurried lifestyles of the locals is transferred into the schedule of your diving with one early morning dive around 9:30 am and the second at 13:30. Over 30 dive sites, all reached within 40 minutes by boat, including superb pristine hard coral formations as good as anywhere in the world, good shoals of pelagics in the lagoon and outer reefs alive with marine life including parrotfish, unicornfish, butterflyfish, nudibranchs, giant travally and barracuda.
