Only 2 hours to the south of Hurghada, El Qusier, the oldest port in this part of the Red Sea creates a totally different feel to the hustle and bustle of Hurghada. It’s remoteness and lack of development are what makes it special. Previously the domain of the liveaboards, the area has some fabulous diving with relatively unexplored virgin reefs. There is diving straight from the housereef, visiting beautiful shoreline reefs and off-shore ergs all within easy reach by dedicated day boats or jeeps. Glorious coral walls, stunning gardens of soft corals and abundant marine life makes this an unrivalled spot. This is the start of the exciting south Red Sea where you can completely wind down and concentrate on the underwater world.

Based at the Utopia Beach Club close to the marina and well-known Utopia house reef. The house reef is one of the best in the Southern Red Sea and lies right in front of the centre. Professional dive centre with multi-lingual instructors. Quality equipment and service for safe and relaxed diving. PADI and SSI courses for beginner to advanced divers. Good storage and quality rental gear. Free Nitrox 32 (for Nitrox certified divers). Boat or jeep safaris are organised by request and paid for locally. Dives centre around Ras Allaset Bay, the fringing house reef has a shallow lagoon plus a slow fall to 30 metres. This is the perfect spot for novice and advance divers alike. Ras Maheleg reef has a severe drop off to 40 meters and home to a myriad of marine life and spectacular coral garden. Elphintone Reef is possible by boat from this area as a day excursion.

Utopia Beach Club

Location: Directly on a sandy beach in the remote Bay of Ras Allasad approx approx 2 hrs from Hurghada and 1 hr from Marsa Alam airport.

Accomodation: 312 comfortable rooms built in oriental style with double or twin beds, air-conditioning, mini-fridge, TV, ensuite bath or shower & wc and balcony or terrace. Many of the rooms have sea view.

Facilities: 2 swimming pools, restaurants, bars, tennis court, games room, diving centre, shops and regular evening entertainment. The hotel is All Inclusive and includes meals buffet style: breakfast, lunch and dinner; drinks served by the glass from 10am to midnight: soft drinks, mineral water, local beer, wine and spirits.
