The nearest major town is Hurghada approximately half an hour away by taxi, or for something much more scenic travel west through the low range of mountains and across the Sahara to the ancient town of Luxor to experience some of Egypt’s fantastic history.

The Diving
Centred around Safaga Island, the reef diving off Safaga is of the highest quality, due primarily to excellent conservation work and the main fact that the reefs are a good distance from the shore, and are thereby more protected than their neighbours. There is also a wreck nearby as well as the opportunity to dive the infamous Brothers (Big and Little Brother). The landmark of which is the Victorian Lighthouse. The Brothers however are not always open to divers.
