diving holidays in Sal Cabo Verde
The Cape Verde archipelago consists of 11 volcanic islands, the flattest being Sal where vast expanses of white sand form the stark landscape.
The diving in Cabo Verde is incredibly varied, without the crowds, and with an abundance of fish life, shipwrecks, cave systems and turtles. Experienced divers will love the diving here and with great year round weather, and a 6 hour direct flight from London or Manchester, this a fantastic alternative to the Red Sea.

The Diving
Visibility is usually between 30 - 40 metres. There are some really nice local check dives to help bring you back up to speed. One of the most popular being Three Grutas, a reef wall that starts at 18m and runs parallel to the shoreline. Its has many caves and cracks, which provide a natural protection for the underwater marine life found around the reef.
A more challenging wreck dive is Saint Antao, a ship broken in three parts on a sandy bottom at 15m and close to the shoreline.
Perhaps the most stunning of all dives around the island is the cave systems of Buracona-Regona, both offering very different dives and experiences. The first has gentle turns and rock formations to move through and plenty of room for divers to swim side by side. A large cavern at the heart of this reef, which it eventually leads into, is what this cave is most famous for and bright beams of sunlight bring it to life and light up the interior of the cave.
