Bonaire Dive Centre - Bonaire, Caribbean

The Bonaire Dive Centre is a PADI 5* Gold Palm Resort and Universal Referral Centre. A friendly and personal service that has become a trademark of buddy Dive Resort. The centre has a complete inventory of rental equipment along with offering many different PADI courses which are conducted in several languages.

Location
The Bonaire Dive Centre is located at the Buddy Dive Resort which is a short 15 minute drive from Flamingo Airport.

Facilities & Services
5 boats with facilities including dry storage areas, rinse buckets, fresh water showers, a camera table, a sundeck, a shaded area and an easy entry platform for both entering and leaving the water. Boats can accommodate up to 24 divers and crew on a 2 tanks dive. The deck area is roomy for divers to stow all their equipment without compromising space. Smaller dive boats for groups of 10, 12 or 14 divers are available for private groups. For safety each boat is equipped with first aid kits and O2, 2 way radios and appropriate rescue equipment. There will always be 2 crew members on each trip who are trained in Media First Aid, either PADI certified Dive Masters or Instructors. The captain will remain on-board to assist you in and out of the water and also to monitor your underwater progress. A dive guide will accompany you on the dive. A retail shop is also at the centre where equipment and accessories can be purchased including t-shirts, sandals, caps, dive lights, film and souvenirs.

There is lots to see in the waters of Bonaire. The resort also has a digital photography centre which offers rental of underwater photography equipment and instruction.

Diving
There is something here for every diver with calm waters, reefs and plenty of marine life living along the shallow drop-off area of the reed slope allows for maximum bottom time. Morning and afternoon boat trips are available to the nearby island of Klein Bonaire, which is a short 10 minute boat ride away. Guided day and night dives can be arranged to sites such as the Salt Pier which is great for photographers.

Dive Courses
PADI dive courses available include Discover Scuba, Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver and Bubble Maker (ages 8-10). Courses should be requested and booked in advance to ensure availability.
 

Bonaire National Marine Park Fee: It is necessary for all who use the waters of the Bonaire National Marine Park to pay a Nature Fee. The fee is $25 for scuba divers (including admission to Washington Slagbaai National Park) and $10 snorkelers or a 1 day scuba diving pass. At the time of payment you will receive a specially designed tag indicating your support of nature preservation and a receipt. Keep both, as they are proof of payment and will provide you with admission to Washington-Slagbaai National Park. Tags are available for purchase at all dive operations, hotels, resorts, windsurfing operations, sport fishing charter boats, sail/snorkel/water taxi operations, marinas and other water sports operations on Bonaire and need to be paid in cash.

All divers are required by the Bonaire Marine Park to carry out a dive orientation & shore orientation dive before participating in any diving activities.
