Sri Lankan history, with over 2000 years of culture, its tea plantations, rainforests and eight Unesco World Heritage Sites make is a must visit destination. Highlights include ; Polonnaruwa, which was the medieval capital of Sri Lanka from the 11th to 13th century AD.
