Diving
Lanzarote offers a variety of shore and boat diving sites suitable for all levels of divers from novice to advanced divers. Playa Jablillo is a perfect dive location for beginners. It is a small bay close to open sea where you an spot groups of salema, bream, seabream, ordinary damselfish, exotic and brightly colored ornate wrasse, spider crab and wide-eyed flounders. Access is from the beach and crossing the bay from one side to the other. The maximum depth is 3 meters, ideal for confined water dives. With the clear Atlantic waters around the island, calm conditions and variety of underwater topography, Lanzarote offers excellent opportunities for learning or developing your diving skills. For advanced divers there are a variety of reef, cave and wreck sites such as Cota Teguise Wreck, a tuna fishing boat sank at 30 meters. Here you likely to see all kind of pelagic fish such as barracude, large groupers, amberjacks and jacks, groopers and moray eels. Other marine life include angel shark, torpedo rays, moray eel, hunting jacks, seahorse, cuttlefish, octopus, scorpionfish and colourful nudibranchs. Ideal for practising your underwater photography.
Culture and Activities
Lanzarote offers a great holiday environment with the unique volcanic landscapes of the Fire Mountains, the wine area of La Geria or beautiful sand beach of Famara. Costa Teguise itself is a fully developed but not overly large holiday resort. In addition to scuba diving, there are many other activies on offer including windsurfing, surfing, mountain biking, cycling with tours and excursions on offer. Also trekking, golf and parasailing. There is a water park in Costa Teguise you can walk to. For apres dive, there is a wide choice of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets, busy nightlife and within a short walk from your accommodation. Alternatively, you can hire a car and explore this picturesque island with whitewashed houses with green shutters and art and crafts sold all over the island.
