Bali offers scuba diving holidays with diving for all levels of diver with macro diving, luxury spa hotels with shore diving and the perfect location for your Indonesia dive holiday. Known as the ‘Island of the Gods’, Bali is situated 3.2km east of Java and belongs to the Lesser Sunda Islands. The best diving sites are located on the north and east coasts includinging Menjangan Marine Park, Tulamben with the Liberty wreck. The spectacular diving site 'Secret Garden' is famous for its ‘Critters’ and draws the attention of many underwater photographers.
Diving
Bali offers a diverse range of diving to cater for all interests. Beginners can enjoy shallow shore diving reefs with coral bommies close to the shore, which can also be explored by snorkelling. Day boat dive sites are between 10 and 60 minutes and include fast drifts, caves, deep diving, wrecks, critter and muck sites. Dive spectacular drop offs and colourful coral gardens with huge sponges. Bali has a fauna rich in a variety of animal life including large pelagic species and on the north coast, dolphins are normally encountered. In season, baby Whale shark can be seen.
Culture and Activities
The island retains it's welcoming charm and unique cultural heritage. Predominantly Hindu, the unique of the the temples line village and roads with ceremonies part of everyday life. Denpensar is a bustling commercial centre and contrasts directly with nearby fishing villages of Sanur. Ubud is the cultural capital and arts centre with many luxury spa retreats nestling next to backpacker lodges. To the north, the 3000m Mt Agung provides an impressive background to the rural paddy fields and agricultural landscapes.
