Location
Based just 15km north of the traditional town of El Quseir, the Roots Luxury Camp is approximately 1 hour 45 mins drive from Hurghada Airport and around a 1 hour drive from Marsa Alam Airport. The Roots Luxury Camp is a luxury diver’s camp offering hillside accommodation surrounded by miles of beautiful, natural desert landscapes and turquoise blue sea views.
Accommodation
A total of 39 rooms with choice of categories: 9 Eco Huts and 11 Deluxe Chalets, 2 ground level Mobility Chalets and 7 Superior Boutique Rooms constructed with natural, local wood and red stone materials and tiled floors. The rooms are arranged around the main courtyard with Eco Huts based on the ground level with views of the mountains. Boutique Rooms are located round a private patio with sea views from the shared upper terrace.
Deluxe Chalets and Boutique Rooms are air-conditioned with twin or triple beds, a private ensuite toilet and shower, satellite LED TV, room safe, smoke alarm and mini fridge. Boutique rooms offer choice of adjoining rooms, room with 2 Queen Size beds or bedroom with King Size double bed, ensuite and lounge area. The Eco huts offer a rustic camp atmosphere, are simply furnished with twin beds, free standing floor fan, shared toilet and shower facilities situated 20 metres away. Each room has a lockable door and a double window front and back. The windows have mosquito screens and black out screens. Towels and bed linen are provided with a daily room service.
Facilities
The restaurant serves buffet style breakfast and dinner. The restaurant has a unique, oriental décor, with thatched roof and offers an atmospheric end to the day. There is seating in the restaurant and on the outside dining patio. There is additional lounge seating for 20 with padded seats. There is a full bar service on site. The pool offers areas for all, there is a toddler pool with water fall into the main pool. There is a shisha corner by the camp fire or on the beach at the Bedouin tent. A front desk, concierge and luggage store service is available plus laundry and WiFi for a small charge payable locally.
The private beach is 150m from the Roots Camp where the diving centre’s main operation is located. Here the beach bar serves snacks, lunch and hot and cold drinks. On the beach, there are sun loungers, parasols, WCs and fresh water shower for guests. Enjoy beach volleyball, a 5 a side football, desert runs, kite flying and mountain biking (small charge). Excursions such as quad biking, desert safari, Luxor day trips, horseback and camel riding and snorkelling on the house reef with equipment rental at the dive centre are also available. Fully qualified British masseur offering a range of treatments.
Diving
The excellent Pharaoh Dive Centre has a bookings office in the camp and dive centre at the beach area with direct access to the protected, sandy bay. The centre offers zodiac and hard boats for shore diving and dive excursions with PADI and BSAC courses available on site. More >
