Paje Beach Dive Centre - Zanzibar, Africa
Paje Beach Dive Centre is a 5 star PADI IDC centre on Zanzibar based on the beautiful white sands of Paje Beach. They offer the complete range of PADI courses applicable to the warm coastal diving of Zanzibar, Pemba Marine park and channels off East Africa. This hightly professional centre offers diving to the highest standard and caters particularly well for mixed ability groups and young divers.
Location
Set in the south east coast of Zanzibar at the Paje beach. A 40 minute drive from the airport and historic Stone town.
Facilities and Services
The dive boats used at the centre are custom built boats. They are shaded with solid seats under which you can store you kit and cylinders are held securely behind the seats. All boats have a radio, first aid kit, emergency oxygen and a mobile phone on board in case of emergencies. Each boat leaves with two captains aboard. Enriched air nitrox is available at very few dive companies in Kenya, in fact at present Buccaneer Diving is the only place you can obtain it on the Mombasa coast.
Diving
The centre offers three dives per day and sometimes more during busy seasons. Most sites are visited by boat within twenty minutes. Each day there is a dive trip to a site within the lagoon, these trips are single dive trips and these sites are suitable for all levels of divers. There is also a two tank dive outside the reef. 'Outside' trips are two dive excursions with the surface interval between dives being spent on the boat. Dive supervision is available, with each boat of divers split into small groups and led by one of our divemasters or instructors. All of the dives are guided and this ensures divers don't miss points of interest and increases safety. Divers on courses will be supervised by their a PADI professional.
Dive Sites
Dives head out twice a day from Paje beach to the outer coral reefs (weather dependent). You an dive and snorkel the Jambiani lagoon where seahorses and stingrays are the main attraction. Dongwe and Bwejuu for gentle reef dives to the more challenging Blue Wall for the adventurous deep divers. Regular trips are orginaised to Mnemba and Kizimkazi with clear water, perfect corals and a huge variety of marine life.
Courses
Courses include use of equipment, and necessary boat trips (course materials extra). Certification fee is approximately £69 for Open Water and £69 for Advanced Courses, which is paid locally.
