Location
Located in the very north of Coron Bay, Sangat Island is just one of over 90 islands and islets which make up the Calamian Island Group in the northern sector of Palawan Province. Edged by limestone cliffs and dense jungle set on a Set on a 300m stretch of pure white sand beachfront, the island is a spectacular natural environment with amazing bird life, flora and fauna, geo thermal hot spring and flourishing marine eco system.

Dive Centre
Sangat Dive Centre has a comprehensive on-site dive facility fitted out with all the equipment you'll need for any underwater adventure during your stay. Newly rebuilt in 2008, the facility offers a wide range of quality equipment (tanks, wet suits, masks, fins, dive computers, and more) from internationally recognized manufacturers as well as an air and Nitrox filling station (powered by dual BAUER K14 compressors) and a brand new LW 280 unit which is combined with a 280 Coltrisub nitrox membrane.

Diving
Dive destinations located close to the open ocean waters (such as the Nanshin Maru Wreck off of the coast of Black Island and Cathedral Cave at the southern tip of Coron Island) and land-locked bodies of water (such as the geothermal waters of Barracuda Lake) have the best dive visibility – typically 20-meters and more.

Wreck Dives
The most popular and historically interesting dive locations around Sangat are always the wreck sites. Just a few of these fascinating pieces of war-time history include Japanese gun boats and sub chasers, cargo and supply vessels, a sea plane tender and more - a total of 11 wreck dives to explore from top height of 3m to max depth of 40m. Nine wrecks are from 10-40 minutes away. For Advanced divers there are 2 wrecks worth diving on special excursion 1 and 4 hours away; the huge 180m Kyokuzan Marus Japanese Wreck with a number of Japanese Staff vehicles and the Nanshin Maru post war Phillipine 45m Fishing vessel, respectively.

Reef Dives
In 2004, the waters and reefs surrounding Sangat island were officially designated as a protected marine park. All of the reef areas offer countless varieties of coral, spectacularly-colored tropical fish, lobster, crab, seahorses, turtles as well as a large number of pelagic species including Tuna, Barracuda and Spanish Mackerel. The Sangat House Reef starts at 1m to a maximum depth of 28m.

Other unusual dives include Barracuda Lake, a landlocked geothermal body of water, approached by foot hiking over rough limestone trails it water temperatures can ready 38C to a max depth of 34m with little crayfish, rabbit fish, grouper, catfish and barracuda. Cathedral Cave is a spectacular underwater cave adventure decending from 6m through a tunnel at 12m breaking crystal clear water in the cave with fantastic stalactite/stalagmite formation. This dives is only accessible in calm weather and suitable only for experienced, qualified advanced cave divers.
