Palau Dive Centre - Palau, Micronesia and Pacific
The Palau dive centre, established in 1972, is a pioneer for diving in Palau, recognised as a PADI 5* Gold Palm GoPro IDC centre.
Location
The centre is located in Palau’s capital Koror, 20 minutes from the Palau International Airport and a short 10 minute drive from our recommended hotels.
Facilities & Services
The centre hosts a range of facilities available to customers. There is a wide selection of the latest fully serviced rental equipment, as well as a variety of dive and Palau related merchandise. A state of the art photo shop offers digital and film cameras to rent, the ability to digitally edit footage and print glossy high resolution photos, and even can produce a custom video to provide a wonderful memory from your trip. A repair shop with experienced technicians can service dive equipment including parts from all main manufacturers. There is also a classroom providing a relaxed space to take courses, along with computer/internet access. There are separate rinsing facilities for diving gear and photographic equipment, ventilated gear storage to allow the equipment to fully dry and hot fresh water showers. For those seeking an adventure away from the water, the centre also organises Off Road Jungle Tours around Babeldaob, Palau’s big island. WWII relics, abandoned villages and waterfalls are among the sights to be seen.
Diving
There are numerous “must see” dive sites available, with a choice of wrecks, reefs, drop offs, caves and more, including some of the highlights at Ngemelis and Peleliu. Some of the famous sites to visit here include the stunning Blue Holes, German Channel, known for its Manta Rays, and the Peleliu Expressway, considered one of the ultimate drift dives. A number of the sites are in shallow waters which make them an ideal location for underwater photography, as well as offering snorkelling opportunities. The centre currently has eleven boats in use, all with cushioned seating and dry storage compartments. The numbers of divers per boat are strictly limited, offering the opportunity to explore the reefs at your leisure with few divers around you.
Dive Packages
The Palau dive centre offers a morning dive trip which would generally leave around 8:30am and return anywhere between 3:30pm-5:30pm, with 2 tank dives before lunch and optional third dive before returning to the dive dock.
