Barbados Dive Centre - Barbados, Caribbean
The centre is around a 5 minute boat trip from Carlisle Bay Marine Park where there is great snorkelling and ship wreck diving. The centre is the only centre which has 2 PADI instructors
who are also marine biologists.
Location
The Barbados Dive Centre is located in the grounds of the Hilton Hotel on Needham’s Point and offers diving on the south and west coasts of Barbados, just 5 minutes from Carlisle Bay.
Facilities and Services
This PADI Dive centre offers daily boat diving trips, private boat charters, plus a wide range of PADI scuba diving courses for adults and children. The centre is a certified Scubapro and Sherwood service centre with scuba diving, snorkelling equipment and underwater digital cameras available to rent. There are 2 custom dive boats to suit all conditions and preferences. Storage area is available to store equipment. The centres has two Marine Biologists on the staff, who have coordinated coral transplantation and coral monitoring projects in the Eastern Caribbean in addition to being a PADI Project AWARE Coral Reef Monitoring Dive Centre.
Diving
The diving here is on the south and west coasts of Barbados. Dive sites here include many shipwrecks and reefs with Carlisle Bay Marine Park, just a 5 minute boat ride away, having 6 shipwrecks in close proximity making it a great site for all divers. This site the centre calls their house reef and although is accessible as a shore dive for convenience and safety is done daily by boat. A number of coral reefs are also accessible from the centre with the chance to see various marine life, including the Hawksbill Turtle as the beach at the Hilton Hotel is the most dense Haksbill Turtle nesting beach in the Eastern Caribbean.
Dive Courses
PADI Scuba Diving Instructors offer certification up to Medic First Aid and Divemaster. Courses offered include: Bubblemaker (ages 8+), Seal Team (ages 8+), Discover Scuba Diving (ages 10+), Scuba Diver, Open Water Diver, Adventure Diver, Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, Emergency First Response, CPR & First Aid, Speciality Training: Deep, Wreck, Fish ID, Naturalist, Night Diver, Peak Buoyancy, Search and Recovery, Digital Photographer, Drift, Boat, Underwater Navigator, Master Scuba Diver, Divemaster (ages 18+) and Assistant Instructor (ages 18+). All courses must be booked in advance to guarantee availability.
