Cape Verdes Dive Centre - Cape Verde Islands, Africa
The Cape Verdes dive centre has the philosophy of diving in small groups and providing clients with maximum comfort and safety. They offer a range of dives sites, courses and Beuchat equipment. Located centrally on Santa Maria beach. It is professionally run with PADI & CMAS instructors, multi-lingual staff and ANMP, FFESS, FPAS and PADI Divemasters. It was the first professional centre on the island of Sal.

Year round (Monday to Saturday).
Location
The centre is located on the beach approximately 50 meters from the Hotel Morabeza, 30 meters from the Pontoon of Santa Maria Bay and 100m from the centre of Santa Maria town.
Facilities
There is a good range of the newest, high quality rental equipment from Beuchat, which is regularly renewed. The Dive boat is equipped with a VHF radio, mobile phone and oxygen. The Divemasters and Instructors are regularly trained and updated, with emergency first response certifications annually renewed.
Diving
There are 19 different dive sites, ranging from 11-45m in depth, between 5 and 30 minutes away from the dive centre. All dives are accompanied by at least one dive guide (Instructor or Dive master). The sites offer a vareity of mix of Atlantic and Mediterranean tropical features, including over 60 endemic species. Typical diving covers these features: yellow cup coral encrusted with rocky outcrops, over hangs, walls, caves and wrecks with many marine life including large concentrations of big eye squirrelfish, yellow guinea grunt, cornet fish, scorpion fish, moray eel, turtle, manta ray, shark, parrotfish and cuttlefish.
Dive Packages
A typical schedule for the day would start at 08:30am meeting at the dive centre, departs at 09:00am. The second dive meets at 14:00pm at the dive centre with the dive commencing at 14:30pm. A possible second dive at 10:30am may be possible to arrange subject to minimum numbers.
As a safety measure, the dive centre’s policy is to always ensure divers have a a few hours of surface interval between dives, hyperbaric chamber facilities are not available at Cape Verde.

Supplements (payable locally)
Caves of Buracona supplement of 25 euros Night dive 25 euros (Minimum 4 divers, minimum level 2 or advanced open water certification). For the caves and the night dive : 1 lamp necessary. Equipment rental should be booked in advance and is payable locally. Supplements payable locally of 25 euro per person for trips to the northern site of the island: minimum 4 divers (at least level 2 or advanced open water certification) .
Special package rages available for groups when booked in advanced.
Dive Courses
CMAS and PADI Instructors, as well as trained PADI, ANMP, FFESS and FPAS Divemasters. Try dives from shore (6m maximum) and followed by a boat trip (12m maximum) are available booked in advance. Other courses available include referral PADI, Rescue Diver, Emergency First Response, Divemaster, E-divemaster courses), up-grade Scuba Diver to Open Water, review theory and practical knowledge on request.
